Children/Youth Activities

Mrs. Taressa Thompson is the Children/Youth Coordinator for the LaGrange District.  See her letter of introduction below.  She is working hard to plan events for children and youth workers as well as for children and youth.  Below are some dates of activities that are currently being planned.  Check back often to see what new activities are being added. Click here to see a brochure of upcoming events for youth, children, and adults who work with them.

LaGrange District Youth Leadership Council
Taressa Thompson, District Youth/Children Coordinator, is in the process of forming this group which will be made up of 12 youth and 2 additional adults.  The council will help youth be involved in local church and district events and will help plan special events just for youth.  Youth who wish to serve on the leadership council, must complete an application and return it to the District Office.  You can download a copy of an informational brochure and the application form

All churches are required to have in place a Safe Santuary policy for the prevention of and report of child sexual abuse.  If your church currently has such a policy in place, please forward a copy to the District Office.  If you need help in writing a policy for your church, there are 2 workshops planned to assist you:

Sunday, November 14, 2:30pm-4:30pm, Bethany UMC, Fayetteville (607 Rivers Road)

You do need to pre-register for these workshops.  There is a $5 workshop fee.  See directions below for registering for events.
