You are invited to this conference-wide celebration of stewardship, which will include dynamic success stories and in depth workshops on stewarship campaigns, capital campaigns, financial management, faith decisions and more. It is being held at the Peachtree Road UMC on September 11, 9:30am - 1:30pm.  Cost is $25 and you can register online at the conference website (www.ngumc.org, go to the calendar section).

 

The LaGrange District is sponsoring two workshops to help churches write a Safe Sanctuary policy.  The first will be held on Sunday, September 12 at Dunson UMC in LaGrange (11 N. The IN Conference: A Church Leadership Conference
September 14-16  |  Dunwoody UMC

This training event is for church leaders and staff covering the essentials of church management, programming and church health. There will be 50 different workshop topic including: Small Church Ministries; Large Church Ministries; Children; Youth; Involvement; Small Groups; Needs-based Evangelism; Worship Planning; Worship and the Arts; Emerging Church; Church Administration; Community Missions; and Travel to Israel, among others. Children are a paramount concern for all great religions.  In our world of war, violence, and poverty, we invite all to join hands with others who are sounding alarms and issuing calls to action to bring "Peace for the World's Children."  The plight and the promise of children will be featured during the 2010 Lake Junaluska Peace Conference through keynote speaker presentations and workshops which will prepare us to be strong advocates for children in every arena of our lives.  There are 2 components to this conference:  Peace Celebration for Youth and Children: Mosaic of Hope, September 18-19; and Lake Junaluska Peace Conference:  Advocacy for the World's Children, September 19-21.  For a brochure, contact the District Office or contact Lake Junaluska directly at www.lakejunaluska.com/peace or call 1-800-222-4930.

 

E-zekiel Web Training Event

Sponsored by the LaGrange District Youth & Children's Department, these workshops are designed for new or experienced youth/children workers leading small to medium sized and multi-aged youth/children in their church.  Come fellowship with others and gain ideas and tools to make your ministry work where you are.  The first workshop will be held on Saturday, September 25 at the Leete Hill UMC in LaGrange (810 Hamilton Road), 9:30am -12:30pm.  A second workshop will be offered on Saturday, March 19, 2011at a location to be announced.  You must pre-register. To be held at Lake Junaluska Octoer 22-24, 2010, this workshop is for small and medium adult church choirs - choir members, directors, accompanists, and bell choir ringers.  There will be four "tracks" - Singers, Directors, Other Church Musicians, and Miscellaneous.  The registration fee of $50 will include an anthem packet including all worship anthems used during the workshops.  Registration forms can be downloaded at www.lakejunaluska.com/choirmusic.
