Welcome to the newly appointed ministers in the LaGrange District!  We have 9 clergy who are new to the district and several others who are moving to new appointments within the district.  For a complete list, see the newsletter section of the website.

 

The Hope for Africa Children's Choir was in the LaGrange District on Friday, June 26!  They performed to a packed house at the Greenville UMC.  Their purpose is to glorify God through music and to raise money for their mission efforts in Uganda.  They put on a high energy performance that was enjoyed by all who were present. If you or your church would like to help support this choir financially, you may make a contribution online at www.ngumc.org, or send your check to the District Office.  A huge thank you to Rev. Brian Funderburke and the Greenville UMC for hosting this wonderful event! 

 

 Leadership UMC - Participants Needed - Leadership UMC is a program of the North Georgia Conference Board of Laity.  It's purpose is to identify and train emerging laity leadership from throughout the annual conference and to prepare those persons for participation in the leadership of the local church, district and annual conference.  This purpose will be accomplished through a series of annual training events for selected individuals who have been identified by the local church and are selected by the District Board of Laity.  The training takes place at Simpsonwood over four weekends throughout the year (November 13-14, 2009; January 22-23, 2010; March 12-13, 2010; May 14-15, 2010).  Total cost is $400 and is shared by the participant, their local church, and the district.  Four persons are selected from each district to attend.  Applications can be obtained through the District Office and need to be returned by September 1.  Contact the District Office for more information.
