District Children's Day

The 3rd Annual District Children's Day will be held at Coke's Chapel on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 10am - 1pm.  This event is for children in kindergarten through 5th grade.  The theme this year will be the life of Moses.  There will be skits, games, food, and much more.  There is no fee for this event, but please notify the District Office of how many children and chaperones you plan to bring so we can get an accurate count for food and supplies.

Youth Lay Speaking Class
The LaGrange District Board of Laity will be offering the Basic Lay Speaking Class for youth on Saturdays, April 14 and 28 at West Point UMC.  These classes will take place in conjunction with adult lay speaking classes that will be held at Keeney Memorial in West Point on those days.  Time for the classes is 9am -4pm.  Youth will learn to recognize their gifts and talents in today's ministry setting.  This basic course encourages and provides training for youth to claim the ministries to which God is calling them.  Registration forms will be availalbe soon, but start now encouraging youth in your church to consider participating in this training.

Spiritual Life Retreats at Camp Glisson
Registration Deadline and Cost: Early Bird price of $110 now through Dec 15th
“B-On Fire,” is the theme of the weekends (March 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25) and will be our torch as we explore how to keep the smoldering coals of the Holy Spirit burning within us.  The theme is based on Luke 24:32 – "And they said one to another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened us to the Scriptures?" The weekends are stocked full of spiritual kindling that will help spark a scorching passion in you and your youth group’s faith journeys. Worship, small groups, fun and games, experiential activities and much more will get you “fired up” as you join in building a lasting “B-On Fire” with other youth groups from across the conference.  After the Early Bird registration time frame, the cost is $130.  To register, please visit ngumc.org/slr.  For more information, contact Meg Morrison via email at mmorrison@ngumc.org
